Waste Water Process of Electroplating

Many kind of process has been done and propose to process waste water from electroplating industry. Waste water process discuss here is to process waste water from electroplating industry using absorption method using zeolite soil. Zeolite soil have characteristic can adsorb many materials like metal from the solution.

The sorption behavior of natural zeolite and synthetic zeolites has been studied with respect to Cr(III) on chromium plating, Ni(II) on nickel plating, Zn(II), Cu(II) and Cd(II) in order to consider its application to purify metal finishing waste water. On the batch method has been employed using metal concentrations in solution ranged from 10 to 200 mg/l and solid/liquid ratios ranged from 2.5 to 10 g/l. Synthetic zeolite exhibited about 10 times greater sorption capacities than natural zeolite, and most suitable to perform metal waste water purification processes. This mineral showed the same high sorption capacity values when used in the purification of metal electroplating waste waters.
